Not fewer than four thousand English speaking or Anglophone refugees from Cameroon, camp in various Local Government Areas of Taraba State are currently suffering due to basic needs like food, drugs and shelter.
They lament that their country is not yet safe for them to return and are appealing to the Nigerian Government, International Donors and other good spirited individuals to come to their aid.

There has been a steady influx of Cameroonian refugees into the Nigeria lately; this is unexpected giving the unremitting crisis in the country. Taraba is a Nigerian State bordering the Cameroon Republic. It has continue to play host to refugees from the Central African Country.
Today, there are no fewer than four thousand of them in Taraba. Refugees, children and nursing mothers are crying for assistance.
The Council Chairman in one of the host Local Government Areas Hassan Camar in an interview with TVC News said the State and Local Government could no longer meet the overwhelming needs of the refugees. According to him, many fruitless efforts were made by the council for assistance from the Red Cross for the refugees.
Some community leaders also appeal to relevant authorities to come to the aid of the refugees particularly the children and nursing mothers among them.
Meanwhile, the Taraba State Police Command has assured Nigerians leaving in the border Local Government of their safety. The Police Commissioner in the State David Akinrele said mechanisms have been put in place to restrict movement of the Cameroonians to certain locations in order not to constitute security threat to us.
The prayer of the Anglophone refugees in Nigeria is to be able to pick up the pieces of their lives again having lost all that they had to the crisis that engulfed their ancestral homes.
