Women of the Northeast of the country are betrayed by Nigeria and this is the moment for them to be braved on the Nigerian Government reported by Amnesty International.
To demand justice: The women said that they are still suffering. They have no husbands, nothing for them to eat and drink.
They want the Government to listen to their cry and come to their aid. Since 2015, the Nigerian Government launched military operations in the Northeast to regain territories controlled by Boko Haram.
The women said they were in their village when President Buhari said, he doesn’t want poor people to suffer, that they should come and that they will be helped. So, they all packed their belongings and left.
But The Nigerian Army Took Many Of The Men, accusing them of being Boko Haram. They were tortured, imprisoned and killed. Women and children were kept locked in Camps starved, abused and raped.
One of the women confessed that if you see a soldier with food in his hand and he’d say, “if you like me, take this food”.
They would say, “Come with us” and we would think of our children crying for food. If you’d accept the food, he’d come back to have intercourse with you, and if you refused, he’d use force to rape you.
Thousands died in the camps, unmarked shallow graves, and a reminder of lost loved ones. Now these women are taking back control of their lives, they are writing letters and making lists of those missing, jailed and killed.
We realized that sitting idle won’t help our situation so we decided to let out our cry to the government for help.
They won’t rest until the world knows.
